Our Origin Story
“In November 2023 we went to the Philippines to see cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. We brought books to the school our Lola (grandma) worked at in her hometown. While we were there we played a lot of basketball. One thing that we noticed is that people were all playing with flip flops or in bare feet. Since their passion for basketball is equal to ours, we thought they should have some 'true' basketball shoes. So we told our friends and teammates about this and asked them to donate some shoes. With our first shipment we gathered 31 pairs of shoes, 31 jerseys and shirts, 20 pairs of shorts and 21 pairs of socks. This was just the start to Barangay Assist. We hope to be able to help more people in the Philippines.”
